Chicago City Markets are Opening
Chicago City Markets Considered essential businesses, the Chicago City Markets are opening in June and July to increase neighborhood access to fresh and healthy food. DCASE will take necessary precautions to encourage social distancing and to protect customers and vendors. Regrettably, since the City of Chicago has cancelled all permitted special events through Labor Day (September 7), Maxwell Street Market will remain closed through this date. A full schedule of local markets is available at ChicagoCityMarkets.us.

Chicago Cultural Center is Highlighting Murals, Virtual Tours
Artwork by Sam Kirk The Chicago Cultural Center remains closed to the public, but DCASE is excited to feature art on the building's exterior. Enjoy a set of colorful mural banners by Chicago artist Sam Kirk in honor of Chicago Pride 2020 on the Michigan Avenue side of the building. And don't forget about the magnificent mural by Kerry James Marshall on the Garland Court side of the building. If you want to go inside the "People's Palace," we are now offering video tours by cultural historian Tim Samuelson at ChicagoCulturalCenter.org.
