As holidays approach, consider donating blood today
Stanford Blood Center has critical need for all types
As many in our community may be aware, the national blood supply is in a critical state, including right here at home in Northern California. In part, this is because of a decrease in donations due to the ongoing effects of the pandemic; but it’s heightened at this time of year by rainy weather, by the impact of cold and flu season, and by donors being less available throughout the holidays. As a result, Stanford Blood Center (SBC) is currently facing a critical need for all blood types, especially type O blood products, and is asking Bay Area residents to come out and donate this week to meet the immediate needs of local patients.

Calling all potential mixer hosts
Have you ever thought about hosting a mixer?
The Pleasanton Chamber events staff is in the planning process of confirming hosts for our monthly networking mixers and we are looking to you, our members, to gauge your interest.
Networking mixers provide the perfect opportunity for business-to-business networking to establish new relationships and business contacts. Mixers are held the second Wednesday of each month from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and are hosted by various chamber members at their business. Attendees are invited to get a first-hand view of your facilities, products and services. Networking mixers are a benefit of chamber membership and are free for members to attend.
If you have any interest in hosting an in-person networking mixer for the Chamber, particularly in the first quarter of 2022, please email Susie.

What our mixer hosts are saying
"As business leaders and business owners, I strongly believe that we have a collective responsibility to continue to make Pleasanton an attractive home for current *and* future businesses. Hosting the mixer really allowed us to bring our community together and create new business opportunities for all of us through networking and personal engagement, and as a host, really highlight and promote Omron’s presence as a global robotics and technology company headquartered here in Pleasanton. I’d love to host one again next year!"
Tom Mathias, OMRON

"It was an honor to host the August Pleasanton Chamber Mixer. The entire experience far exceeded my expectations; from the support of the Chamber staff and their commitment to our success, to the Chamber Ambassadors who greeted our guests and bartended. In spite of the heat and COVID restrictions, we had an incredible turnout. I invited our top customers to join us and was happy to see them engaging with members of the business community. One of the main benefits of hosting the event was the increase in our name recognition. We are fairly new to the community and were able to reach more businesses in a single evening than we are able to in weeks. If given the opportunity to host again, I would jump at the chance. It was a wonderful evening and the good will that resulted was well worth the time and expense."
