Hi Everyone,

In light of all the tough times and negative news we are all dealing with, I feel it is important to shed light on some positive news from the Athletic Department during these times. I would like to give a shout out to all the Winter Sports student-athletes and coaches. They have been steadily working hard, all while dealing with all the COVID protocols and inclement weather. They all make us proud to be a Yellowjacket!

MODIFIED INDOOR TRACK:
Even though COVID closed down all the indoor track venues and the inclement weather cancelled all outdoor track meets, the team continued to remain positive and practice throughout it all. Instead of just giving up, they found space to workout wherever they could, using parking lots, small portions of the track, gym, etc. The Athletic Department is very proud to have the student-athletes and Coach Otivich represent Hastings Athletics. We are excited to watch these student-athletes continue to grow on and off the track. We know these student-athletes will have a bright future in the Hastings Athletic program.

A word from Coach Melissa Otivich:
The students were very happy to have the opportunity to be together, run, workout, and socialize. No matter what the weather was they were prepared each and every day and worked hard. They learned what some of the running events are and played some fun running games throughout the season. I am proud of the team for their dedication, enthusiasm, and positive attitude. All the snow did not stop this group of athletes!
