PTSA NEWS
MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Hello Everyone,

Last Monday, my cat was ambushed by coyotes, and we lost her. I am not mentioning this for shock and awe but for another reason, mental health. The next day I took a mental health break. At IS, we have middle and high school counselors, MHAT (Mental Health Advisory Team), and an onsite nurse. Is there a theme here? Yes, at IS we have this wonderful support system in place so our kids can receive mental health support for a myriad of reasons.

Truthfully all schools need this support, which is why the PTSA has this issue as one of its legislative platforms. Every school should have counselors, nurses, and mental health teams. Every school needs to support the mental health of their kids. Help PTA make this happen, become an ISPTSA member, and have your membership support this advocacy at the state level.

Thank you,
Meribeth Nordloef-Pedersen
ISPTSA President 20222023
