Student Resources
New Student and Transitional Programs (NSTP)

NSTP oversees many programs and events at USI and assists new college students, transfer students, and their families with the transition to USI.

NSTP helps students navigate USI starting with orientation through graduation by connecting them to resources, offering programs and involvement opportunities and sharing campus information and updates. Your USI journey starts here. For help, campus information and upcoming events check out our website.
Multicultural Center (MCC)
The MCC was established in 1994 and has been a champion for diversity ever since. The MCC creates opportunities for cultural interaction between students, campus and the community at outreach experiences and promotes cultural awareness and sensitivity. The MCC sponsors programs, provides services, advises organizations and conducts diversity training. MCC engages in collaborative efforts focusing on diversity, houses a multicultural collection of more than 800 books cataloged in the David L. Rice Library and publishes an online newsletter.
Dean of Students (DOSO)
Religious Life
The DOSO helps students succeed at the University by connecting them to resources, assisting as they navigate administrative processes with other University offices and serving as an advocate when students face academic and personal challenges. The DOSO provides support during times of challenge, crisis and emergencies and opportunities for students to engage in good decision-making.
Religious Life provides religious guidance and worship opportunities for students, faculty and staff. Their goal is to get the word out about ways to stay active in your faith while at USI. They offer retreats, fellowships, bible studies, worship mass, service opportunities and educational programming. Visit the Office of Religious Life on the corner of O'Daniel and Clark Lanes.

Hi everyone! My name is Yuri Lo Ng, and I am an international student from Panama. I am a Biology major with a minor in biochemistry.

This is my first year as an orientation leader, and I am so excited to help everyone to get involved with USI. I am a bilingual student ambassador, a student worker in special events, and will be an International Orientation Assistant this coming school year.

One interesting fact about me is that I can speak three languages (Chinese, Spanish, and English) and one dialect (Hakka). I enjoy painting, cooking, reading books, and watching dramas or movies during my free time. I can't wait to meet all of you at USI soon, Go Screagles!!!! And Welcome to USI!!!
