IMSA Student Emergency Relief Fund
The IMSA Fund has established the IMSA Emergency Student Relief Fund. With this fund, we hope to provide financial assistance to our community’s low income students for essential expenses, as well as access to technology for remote learning. Our goal is to ensure that every student in our community can continue to experience IMSA’s robust educational program from home, regardless of their financial situation.

Please join us by visiting IMSA’s Emergency Student Relief Fund to learn more and to make your donation now. You can also send a check payable to the “IMSA Fund for Advancement of Education” and indicate "Emergency Relief Fund" in the memo line.

If you would like to share words of support for our students, especially our seniors, please click here.

Staff Spotlight - Dr. Don Dosch
We had the opportunity to catch up with Dr. Don Dosch, soon to be retired Science Faculty member at IMSA.

Dr. Dosch is responsible for helping lead the Student and Inquiry Research (SIR) program at the Academy. SIR supports student investigations conducted on and off-campus. Formalized in and evolving since 1989, the SIR department provides a framework for students to conduct original investigations on compelling questions of interest, collaborate with other students and professional researchers, and to share their investigation results through public presentations and publications.

Student participation varies slightly each year, but recent trends suggest that about 75% of all IMSA students will conduct at least one investigation during their enrollment at the Academy. In its current form, the SIR department runs a number of distinct programs and initiatives for the IMSA community and the public.

During the academic year, SIR runs a one-credit, graded course. Students work with research mentors both on and off campus. The projects are designed to last between one and two years and culminate in a peer-reviewed publication.

SIR administers the solicitation of projects, recruitment of students, logistics of sending students to research sites, and supervises research and student outcomes.

Assembled Startup Launched
IMSA Alumni Ryan Wang '08, Michael Zeng '14, & John Wang '10 recently launched Assembled, a startup building software for customer support.

Assembled’s longer-term ambition is to build tools for what co-founder Ryan Wang describes as “the logistics of customer support.”

“We want to become the operating system for support teams,” he said. Most immediately, the company’s focus will be on agent performance. “Teams want to learn about their top performers and how they spend their time, and offer data to empower their decision-making.”
