Lego League team heads to Championship!

Peabody's Lego League team, Jedi Penguins: Rise of Skywaddler, won first place for their Innovation project at their tournament this past weekend. To combat the boredom of quarantine and to encourage families to get outside and explore while staying socially distant, the team created a website of local scavenger hunts they call "Quarantine Quests". Accessible on any type of device, there are both generic quests that can be done in any neighborhood or yard as well as some specific locations around Charlottesville. Despite a challenging season of having to meet, program, and compete entirely remotely, the team will be moving on to the VA/DC Regional Championship on February 27-28th! Congratulations Kes, River, Sienna, Cooper, and Ishan!

The Jedi Penguins Need Your Help!!

As they prepare to submit their project for the regional championship, the Lego League team wants to make their website the best it can be. To do this, they need feedback from the community. There are indoor and outdoor quests, ones close to home and ones at specific locations. Please take some time with your children to try some of the quests and leave the team feedback on the google form attached to the site. The website can be found here: https://sites.google.com/view/quarantinequests/home Feedback is needed by Friday February 19th. Thank you for supporting the team!
Dressing for the Weather

Please make sure your student has dressed appropriately for the weather each morning. It is cold and we are spending time outside in addition to having the windows open in the classroom. We do have the heat on high but on certain days, it will be hard to get the temperature up. Thank you!
2020-21 Annual Fund

Your participation in the Peabody Annual Fund provides essential operating support to Peabody. The generosity of our community supports almost everything that keeps Peabody running, from salaries and classroom technology to arts and supplies. This year, we are also faced with increased expenses for items such as technology infrastructure upgrades, outdoor learning spaces, additional cleaning supplies and protective equipment, and additional aid to Peabody students and families who felt the financial impact of COVID-19. We hope that you will support Peabody in this area and that you will keep in mind that your Annual Fund gift, of any size, really matters to the school.

Thank you in advance for your consideration of a gift to Peabody School for the 2020-21 year and for being such strong supporters of our wonderful school!
