Diocesan Update on Masks
The Diocese is constantly monitoring the situation regarding masks. If their decision on masking in school changes for Franklin County, our School Task Force will meet to see how to implement the recommendations. No decisions on masks or any other protocols will be considered until that point. Thank you for your patience and willingness to keep our students safe.
Enrollment and Application
Preschool and K-8

Re-Enrollment and New Student (of current families) enrollment has begun on the FACTS student information systems. We will be closing enrollment for current families on Wednesday, December 15. It's important that you complete this process by December 15 to secure your spot for the 2022-23 school year.

A few items to note:

1. Currently the biggest hiccup with the new process has been the fee structure. Please know that we have made note of your comments and we will be restructuring for the next enrollment season. We apologize for any confusion or surprise. We are learning and working hard to do better for the future.

2. If you have already given copies of your student’s birth certificate, baptism certificate, current immunizations, etc. during previous enrollment years, you will NOT need to forward an additional copy to us.

3. Please make sure you sign and submit your enrollment for each student. We have quite a few enrollments that are in limbo. If you didn’t receive a confirmation email it is not complete.

4 Please direct any questions to Johnean Goodwin info@stcathschool.com

If you have never logged in you will need to set up an account for your Family Portal. Here is a helpful video. Password is PORTAL Please contact Johnean Goodwin at info@stcathschool.com if you have any issues logging into your parent portal.

Substitutes for Preschool
school_supplies_tool.jpg
St Catharine Preschool is looking for substitutes to cover for when staff need to be away from school. Do you know someone who might have some availability to help us on the occasional morning or afternoon, maybe a college student, retired neighbor or family member? Maybe YOU!!

Minimum requirements are a High School Diploma and Background Checks. Please have them contact Christy Deberson cdeberson@cdeducation.org for more information.
CAP ( Creative Activities Program)
HASA will be restarting the Creative Activities Program (CAP) this winter but we are in need of your help to make this possible. CAP is in need of volunteers to help lead clubs for the winter session.

Clubs are open to grades 1-8 and one day a week after school from approximately 3:00 to 4:00. The fall session dates are from Jan 24 to Mar 11.

Please consider giving an hour per week on the day of your choice to lead a club. This would be a great way to earn volunteer hours and can be anything from Legos to gardening to science club. I am happy to help with any ideas and materials to get your club started. We also will reimburse you for all materials used. Club leaders will need to have completed Protecting God's Children and have their fingerprints on file prior to the session beginning. Masks will also be required while in the school.

Our students really enjoy participating in these after school clubs but it is essential for parent involvement to keep these clubs going.

Contact jasmine.williams03@ymail.com if you are interested.

Potential ideas

Volunteers are an invaluable group of individuals who provide a sense of community for the many parish and school activities at St. Catharine. It is the expectation of the St. Catharine Advisory Board that each parish family fulfills their obligation to actively support and participate in the parish and school. In addition, it is expected that parents volunteer their time and talent in helping with church and school-sponsored activities and programs. Such involvement is not only necessary for financial stability, but parents can provide a valuable service to the school and to the children by their dedication and support. In order that tuition rates may be kept at a reasonable level, parents are asked to volunteer for a minimum of 50 hours. per family

“Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart” ~Elizabeth Andrew
