Many activities seem to be picking up pace with warmer weather, great outdoor trails and parks, the City's newly expanded Centennial Recreation Center Exercise Studio, and people venturing out into businesses in the community. Completed vaccination rates are also increasing, which is welcomed news, too. Both the U.S. and CA are seeing approximately 25 percent of their populations fully vaccinated, at the time of this writing. Santa Clara County is higher still at approximately 35 percent of its population. Keep up the good work! Below are several references for upcoming local vaccination times available throughout South County. Stay active, healthy, and engaged!

Environmental Services Proposed Ordinances Informational Session:
Private Sewer Lateral and Water Conservation at Resale
7:00 p.m.
The City is developing two new ordinances to both conserve and protect our local water supplies. Interested members of the public are invited to participate by joining the Zoom meeting: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89805848823 or call (669) 900-9128, then enter the webinar id: 898 0584 8823 #.
The Private Sewer Lateral Ordinance is being developed to prevent sewage overflows caused by stormwater entering privately-owned sewer pipelines through breaks and cracks in the system. The ordinance will require property owners to obtain an inspection of their private sewer lines and conduct any necessary repairs before selling their property. Owners of small private sewer collection systems that connect multiple buildings, like those found at apartments, condos, and some businesses, will be required to conduct inspections periodically.
The Water Conservation at Resale Ordinance, which is based on existing State law, will require that homes built in 1993 or earlier are inspected before resale to ensure that their plumbing fixtures have been updated with high-efficiency fixtures that consume less water with each use. The functionality of these plumbing fixtures remains the same while using less water to get the job done.
Following the community meeting, the ordinances are scheduled to be presented to the City Council for consideration at the May 5th Council meeting.
