PPP PROGRAM UPDATE
While we hoped to be able to resume programming on July 6th, the DOC has recognized that the prison facilities are not ready to safely do that. The newly released DOC Safe Start plan takes a more cautious and slower approach than the general WA State plan and its policy requires that our boarding and grooming facilities remain closed until all DOC facilities can safely move into Step 3.
To minimize stress on our staff and our clients, we will not be scheduling any future appointments for boarding or grooming until we have clear reopening guidance from the DOC. For more info, please visit the
DOC's Safe Start site.
If you have questions about already existing future reservations, contact our Board & Groom team at info@prisonpetpartnership.org or leave a message at 253-858-4240.
All of our service pups-in-training are with skilled fosters who continue their training process under the guidance of our Service Dog Team. Two rescues that came to us last year (Fenway and Cardi), have now been placed in their forever homes as Paroled Pets, after many hours and care with their incarcerated trainers Paula and Janet! The incarcerated women in the program are staying busy with exam preparations, studying and reports, writing projects and creative endeavors but truly cannot wait to reconnect with all of you through your animals as soon as it's safe! We sure do miss your pets, our volunteers, and our active training facility. Thank you for sticking with us!
