PATIENT CARE

This month we are focusing on a cheat sheet from the North Carolina/Ohio ME & FM Support Group "Immune Abnormalities" - Issues Specific to Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (per the ICC).

ME patients suffer from immune dysfunction which can lead to reactivated viruses and opportunistic infections which can be treated.  This cheat sheet was created to inform patients and medical professionals on the specific immune system abnormalities found in ME.

"It is a huge affirmation to have had my video on Forgiveness, shortlisted for the prestigious Alpine Fellowship Award Art Prize! Every morning I got up early to draw the pictures, write the music, work out the story. Many, many thanks to Linda, it was her encouragement that drove me on. The Video is based on my long experience of being a Carer. I would like to use this opportunity to announce that my fourth- and final book on Severe/ Very Severe Myalgic Encephalomyelitis : "More Notes For Carers" is currently being prepared for publication."

ADVOCACY

The European Petition to Recognize and Subsidize ME
as a Biomedical Disease

This article is in the June ME Global Chronical which is a quarterly newsletter that was started by a dedicated group of people to gather current articles and help get the word out worldwide about ME.  This resolution will provide additional funding for biomedical research on ME.  It remains to be seen if that research uses the ICC diagnostic criteria for ME.
