Office of the Mayor and Council Update
Our local doctors are asking for your help
if you can donate certified Personal Protective Equipment so they can keep seeing patients
Dear community members:

Family doctors and specialists who serve us in clinics and doctors’ offices in our community need personal protective devices such as face masks , gowns , eye goggles , and gloves .

The government is working to stabilize the situation, however, the Ontario Medical Association has encouraged community drives such as this as well. The clinics and offices have tried to buy supplies of personal protective equipment through the usual channels, but there have been critical shortages because of disruptions in global supply chains.

Oakville businesses and industries who can donate any of these supplies to local doctors are asked to contact OakvilleCommunityDrive@gmail.com . All emails will be answered and arrangements made for pick up and distribution by local volunteers.

This equipment will be used on the front line to protect health care providers in our community including family doctors, specialists, and allied health providers who care for patients outside the hospital in our community, for example, teams providing in-home palliative care. Please forward this to all interested people in your networks.

Sincerely,
Dr Kris Martiniuk
Dr James Kovacs
