Black Box Lighting

VAST is proud to have new track lighting in the lobby area of the PointBank Black Box Theater, which greatly enhances our VAST member exhibition "Outside the Box." We are most grateful to Gail Cope for her generous donation, making this possible, and to Johnny Williams for his labor to install the lighting.

Opportunity to Help Service Organization,

Serve Denton; Exhibit Your Art and Benefit Others

VAST members,

We have been given a unique opportunity to share our art in a place where it will greatly enrich the lives of members of our community who are facing huge challenges.

Serve Denton is a local non-profit organization dedicated to helping folks get back on their feet by providing a place to stay for at least three months. The place is the Wheeler House located at 821 North Elm Street in the former Terrill Wheeler Printing location. The building has been renovated to include four bedrooms, which will sleep up to four family members, a kitchen, a living area, laundromat, and a kid's room. The facility will also office Health Services of North Texas, and a Denton Police Downtown Bike Patrol substation.

There will be a grand opening of Wheeler House on March 28th. You are invited to share one or more pieces of art, which we will install on Saturday, March 21, at the Wheeler House, 10:00 am.

The art should be family oriented and be generally uplifting. Size is only limited by the space, but I think 48" is a good maximum width. We are thinking in terms of possible three-month rotations of art. If you are interested, please email images of your work to me with sizes and title.

Siebert studied art at the University of Texas and has continued to study with privat e instructors in Texas and Mexico. She has exhibited paintings in Germany and the United States, and is currently exhibiting in several Texas galleries.
