Transitions

This week our congregation is experiencing an exciting staff transition. Pam Siegler who has served as our Music Director for many years is retiring on Sunday. As much as we will miss Pam, we are also excited to announce our new Interim Music Director, Jonathan Corey. After an in-depth search process that brought us several high-quality candidates, we are delighted that Jonathan has accepted our offer to come and work with us for the rest of the time that we are worshipping exclusively online.

Here’s a little bit about Jonathan: He grew up attending the United First Parish UU Church in Quincy, Massachusetts, where his father is the music director. He graduated from Oberlin Conservatory of Music with a concentration in classical piano in 2008. After graduation, Jonathan became interested in audio recording and worked for several years in recording studios in Chicago, New York City, and Boston. He became the music director of the First Universalist Church in Yarmouth, Maine 2016. After settling in the more temperate climate of Charlottesville, Virginia, he began as the music director of Unitarian Universalist Community Church in Glen Allen, Virginia in 2017. In his free time, Jonathan enjoys hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

We appreciated Jonathan’s depth of knowledge of UU music, his technical savvy, and the joyful and easy-going way he leads a choir rehearsal. I so look forward to working with him and hope you all make him feel very welcome as he begins his time with us on Monday, March 1st.

Like our other online and mobile giving options, this option is through Vanco, is secure, and has a good option for "plate" donations.
