ANNOUNCEMENTS
Resources on Background & Context of Racial Unrest
For those of you who would like to explore more on the background and context for the racial unrest we have been facing as a country, here are a number of resources to consider:
  • Warner Brothers is streaming the amazing movie Just Mercy for free all of June. Watch this as a family and talk about it together. Available on Amazon Prime.
  • Read the book Dear White Christian by Aaron Layton.
  • For something heavier, Dr. Otis Pickett, a PCA elder and history professor at Mississippi College, will be hosting a ZOOM webinar next week (either Tuesday or Wednesday evening) on the historical background of racism in our country. To be included, email him at [email protected] and he will send you the link.
  • Our friend Dr. Irwin Ince encourages us to read the PCA study paper on Racism and Racial Reconciliation. Go to PCABookstore.com and search for “Pursuit of Gospel Unity."
Email Phishing Alert
There have been reports of members of the congregation receiving an email from "Rev. Chuck Jacob" asking you to contact him as soon as you receive the message. This is a scam email. If you receive a similar email that you were not expecting from any of the pastors asking for a favor and asking you to reply by email, please treat it as a phishing attempt and delete it without replying.
Celebrating Our College Graduates
Graduation celebrations for the Class of 2020 look very different than envisioned. As a church family, we want to make sure our new college graduates are celebrated and honored for their accomplishments, especially since they are unable to participate in traditional commencement exercises at this time. If you are either 1) a new college graduate who made CGS your church home during your time at a local university or 2) the parent of a new college graduate, please email Liz Stoioff with your name/graduate's name & college/university by Thursday, June 11 so that we can celebrate the college Class of 2020 in next week's Friday email.

Global Outreach Spotlight
Meet: F & C, their two sons and two daughters
F&C can best be thought of as missionary consultants. They help missionaries and pastors start ministries of all types, but with a focus on nationals and indigenous outreach. They have three areas of focus in the Muslim world. The first is their work in West Africa. They have seen huge progress in many ministry areas. For instance, West Africa now has well over 200 churches planted in eight countries. Second, as a Jewish convert, F has been able to minister to Muslims, Arabs, and Messianic partners in Israel, including an amazing reconciliation ministry. Third, they are facilitating church plants and support in Cyprus to assist Muslim converts fleeing persecution. Cyprus tends to receive lots of immigrants from the Middle East, North Africa and West Africa.
Pray: Praise that God is using the constraints of the pandemic for the growth of His kingdom and that they are learning to use a variety of technologies to meet and do training and spread the Word! Please pray for their missionaries and local partners to be safe during the pandemic, with very limited access to medical care. Pray for support to remain strong for our missionaries and ministries in spite of the economic hardships in the US and that the internet and the bandwidth they need to use technologies to connect will remain strong for the duration of this crisis.
Connect: No information available due to sensitive nature of work and location.
