Recently, I watched an old western and the storyline was about a young drifter who got arrested because the town thought he had killed their beloved town doctor. In actuality, the drifter had been framed by the killer who wanted the drifter to hang instead so he could remain free.
On a wooden cross on a hill called Golgatha, Jesus also took the blame for our sins. He didn’t have to, but because he loved us so much, he decided to bridge the gap between his Father and us that had formed due to our sins. Because of his ultimate sacrifice, we now have the opportunity to live free from sin.
Jesus was innocent, yet, he chose to substitute his life for those who were guilty. May we never forget why he took the blame. For me. For you. For all.
Sharing the Word,
