FEASIBLE WARP SPEEDS FROM QUANTUM GRAVITY

Classical mechanics provides a phenomenological description of nature and therefore does not provide deep insights into the fundamental workings of nature. General Relativity is the only classical theory that attempts to explain gravity from a first principles perspective, explaining it as a warping in the geometry of space-time by the presence of matter. The mathematics of GR is complicated because it attempts to explain a quantum phenomenon –gravity using the language of geometry. A complete understanding of gravity can only come from quantum gravity in which we find the nexus of the concepts of space-time, gravity and the quantum vacuum. Here I present a quantum theory of gravity in which space-time, gravity, Dark Energy and Dark Matter are different manifestations of the same underlying quantum field. This new framework provides an insight into the enigmas of interstellar travel. It expands our current knowledge on the cause of motion and why current technology cannot take us to the stars as well as provide the much needed solution to the problem of interstellar travel.

A brief discussion on Quantum Computation/Quantum Supremacy

Quantum Computer/Computation sees its origin from people like Nobel Prize Laureate in Physics and the late Caltech Physics professor, Dr. Richard Feynman. Richard Feynman had an interesting tie with aerospace, as he was in the Rogers Commission called by Pres. Ronald Reagan, which included Neil Armstrong, Chuck Yeager (the first person to break the sound barrier in level flight) and Sally Ride (the first American woman in Space (STS-7)), and others. He made the famous public broadcast TV demo for the O-Ring problem in the testimony before the Congress. This brief discussion will cover some of the basic issues in Quantum Computer / Quantum Supremacy, which has been in the news several times. Possible applications in aerospace might be discussed as well.

Dr. Ken Lui obtained his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), shortly after the turn of the Millennium and the September 11 incidence, during which one of the airplanes crashed nearby Pittsburgh, PA, where Carnegie Mellon University is located. In addition, He has extensive experiences in electronics, computers hardware/software), fabrication/manufacturing, semiconductor nano/micro devices & bio engineering, and have been enjoying Quantum Mechanics / Quantum Physics.

This brief discussion to discuss with some basic issues on this topic, and maybe incite some discussions on the possible application in aerospace / space science and development. Some more speaker(s)/panelist(s) might join the discussion.
