Speakers:

Phillip K. Brown joined Crown Castle in May 2019, as the Government Affairs Manager at Crown Castle for eight U.S. states, including Kentucky and Tennessee. He was the executive director of the Kentucky Communications Network Authority from 2017 through April of 2019, which is the Kentucky state agency in charge of KentuckyWired, the largest telecommunications public-private partnership in North America. He has served as Chief of Staff for the Kentucky Cabinet for Tourism, Arts, and Heritage, and spent 8 years as head of public policy and broadband planning for the national non-profit broadband advocacy organization Connected Nation. Phillip has 22 years of experience in public policy with non-profit organizations, trade associations, and the U.S. Congress. He is a graduate of Centre College in Danville, and earned a M.B.A. from the University of Louisville.


Sanjay Udani is a technologist who serves as Vice President for Policy at Verizon, where he develops and coordinates Verizon’s policy positions on emerging services and technologies including 5G, cybersecurity, privacy, spectrum, and supply chain security. He also provides technical expertise to help internal and external stakeholders–including Members of Congress, various government agencies, senior leaders at Verizon, and Verizon’s Board of Directors–better understand the technology that underlies ongoing policy debates and discussions. Sanjay frequently represents Verizon in meetings with U.S. and foreign government officials, and frequently speaks at major industry events. Prior to joining Verizon’s public policy team, Sanjay was a lead network architect for Verizon’s Fios consumer broadband service.
