Spring 2020 Newsletter
All of us at goHunterdon hope that this newsletter finds you, your family, friends, and colleagues safe and healthy. The world has changed dramatically in the few, short months since we sent out our Winter 2020 newsletter. goHunterdon staff continues to work remotely. We have modified our work to be responsive to these changing and challenging times.

In this issue, we will share a few highlights of the ways in which goHunterdon has responded and adapted our programming to meet the “new normal” we are all experiencing.
COVID19 Resources Page Offers Current Information
goHunterdon created a COVID 19 Resources webpage to provide information on the status of available transportation services and resources, as well as community, job seeker, and business resources. The page is updated regularly as new information is available and special “transportation update” advisory emails are being sent.

Traffic Alerts Continue: Commuters Observe More Trucks
goHunterdon has continued to provide free traffic alerts to provide timely information to travelers of Hunterdon County roadways. While traffic volumes are down considerably, alerts have continued to provide essential workers with information on crashes, construction detours, and weather related impacts in recent weeks.

Employment Transportation Planning Available to Job Seekers
goHunterdon’s Employment Transportation Planning assistance continues to be available to job seekers needing transportation to get to work. goHunterdon’s Community Mobility Coordinator is available to “meet” with job seekers via phone or Zoom video conference to discuss individual needs, discuss available transportation options, how to use services, and establish a transportation budget.

Distance Learning Resources Offered to Hunterdon K-8 Schools
goHunterdon offers two robust K-8 educational programs for Hunterdon students~ Environmental Education and the Safe Routes to School bicycle and pedestrian safety program. Combined, these programs engage close to 2,000 Hunterdon students during the academic year.

Hunterdon County Virtual Walk & Bike to School Week
Hunterdon County Walk & Bike to School Week has long served as the kick off of the spring walking season at Hunterdon schools that participate in the Hunterdon County Safe Routes to School Program, facilitated by goHunterdon. The annual event has always provided a fun and engaging way to reinforce the goals of its program- “Where it is safe, get kids walking and bicycling; where it is not safe, make it safe.”

Bike Hunterdon: A Celebration of Cycling
“The bicycle is a simple solution to some of the world’s most complicated problems”.

The COVID 19 pandemic has changed our lives in ways that were unimaginable just a few short months ago. For many, our daily “hustle/bustle” came to an abrupt halt. For essential workers who are serving on the front lines and those who have been impacted by COVID 19, life has become even more intense.
