WORSHIP WITH US THIS SUNDAY ONLINE
We will mark Trinity Sunday, by joining the Word with the Sacrament of Holy Communion.  The Presbyterian Church (USA) has authorized the celebration of Holy Communion electronically during the pandemic.  Celebrating communion during this time is not only theologically meaningful but is also essential, even if only in spirit, to sustaining our connection with one another.  We will gather at our separate tables, united at Christ's Table.  You may wish to prepare some bread and juice or wine.  Join us!

A video of the service will be available by 10:00 on Sunday morning at:
The video will also be posted on the website homepage on Sunday, for anyone who "wanders in" looking for worship.
For those who cannot access the recordings online, the service will be streamed at 10:00 over Zoom, accessible by telephone:
For live stream audio via Zoom at 10:00:

COFFEE HOUR
will be held online this Sunday at 11:15

Coffee Hour:
Many members and friends have expressed how much they have enjoyed the "virtual coffee hours," commenting that it has been especially nice to " talk to new people that I might not meet on a 'regular' Sunday morning in the Parlor!"
Small group conversations this week will focus on reflecting and responding to the events of the week (see Presbyterian responses to racism below).  Bring your cup of coffee and come prepared to re-connect with old friends and to make some new ones!
To help with group management and security, please sign-up with Mr. Ater ([email protected]).  Past participants will automatically be included this week!

PRESBYTERIANS CALLED
TO RESPOND TO RACISM
The Stated Clerk of the Presbyterian Church (USA), J. Herbert Nelson, has urged that when it comes to racism, Presbyterians can "no longer hide behind being too controversial" saying that the church is called to "dismantle structures that put people in poverty and pain." The PCUSA Office of Public Witness in Washington, D.C. distributed an "Action Alert" this week to provide a way for Presbyterians to reach out to lawmakers to ask them to address racism in the U.S.

Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse
with Dr. Gregory Baer,
Professor of German at Carthage College
Wednesday evenings: June 24, July 1, 8, 15 + 7:00-8:00
Hermann Hesse's 1946 novel, Siddhartha, tells the story of a Brahmin's son who explores intellectualism, aestheticism, discipleship, lust, wealth, and human connections as he seeks to overcome selfishness and find deep and lasting satisfaction and enlightenment.  We will read this novel together and discuss-drawing on Siddhartha and Hesse--the roles these topics play in our modern lives as we seek to be people of faith exploring the ambiguities of modern life and discerning the responsibilities and opportunities to which God calls us in each new day.
A reading schedule, links to free online versions (text or audio) and Zoom access information will be provided to those who register in advance.  All are welcome!  Invite a friend.  Sign up online by clicking HERE or contact Amy Penington in the church office.

Although "social distancing" is discouraging much in-person interaction,  social media is providing a wonderful space for people to stay connected to church, family, and friends.
