Principal's Message
Hello EAMS Students and Families:
I hope that everyone is well as we all adjust to the new “normal” in an effort to combat COVID-19. During this digital-learning period, our newsletter has taken on a slightly different format:
*On the left, you will see links to previous communications from
EAMS and resources.
*Below the Principal’s Message are the links to the Virtual
Learning Maps for all students (we will also be posting a link to
these on our homepage).
The learning maps below communicate to students and families the learning progress for a given day and subject. We all have concerns about the bandwidth’s ability to handle traffic during digital learning, and these documents will not only help students pace themselves but also be accessible 24/7 if technology issues arise.
When students are looking at their schedules for digital learning, there will be a period that they typically have lunch (and study hall for some students). During those periods, students can use that period to connect with teachers, work on their coursework, or take a break.
I have fielded many questions about upcoming calendar events. There will be no digital learning on April 10th/Good Friday; however, April 13th, which was a scheduled teacher inservice, will be a digital learning day for students. We have many upcoming field trips and school events scheduled. As a school, we are looking for creative ways to preserve these opportunities and not cancel them. We will share more information as it becomes available.
Going forward, the EAMS office will be open from 8-12 PM daily and by appointment. From 12-3:30 PM, EAMS staff will be checking voicemails remotely and returning calls. Families that need assistance in Spanish can press “3” when calling the school.
Thank you to everyone for your flexibility during this transition to digital learning, and please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions that you have.
Have a great weekend!
Ryan McBurney
