Come spend time with us in the Children’s Garden and enjoy scenes from favorite children’s books centered on nature. Is that Peter Rabbit and sisters Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton Tail hanging out in Mr. McGregor’s garden? Could Alice be spotted with the Mad Hatter having a tea party? It’s likely. Learn your letters, read, play and more as we bring
Peter Rabbit, Tops & Bottoms, The Giving Tree, Alice in Wonderland, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, Jack and the Beanstalk and more to life. We will have story times, book sales, seed growing lessons, and plant and garden vendors during this 10-day festival that serves as a fundraising event for the Gardens.

Support the Gardens
We understand there are many demands for support as we, like many of our peers, had to suspend operations for several weeks due to the COVID-19 pandemic, including the Crystal Bridge Conservatory, family festivals, Mo’s Carousel, rentals, classes, special fundraising events and more. This created a dramatic decrease in our revenue.
Please support the Gardens with a donation of any size or purchase or renew a membership. This vital support will help us maintain our gardens and grounds.
Thank you for your consideration.
*The new Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act allows all donors to deduct an additional $300 in charitable contributions on top of the standard deduction.

Exhibition on display May 16-July 7, 2020
FREE during Crystal Bridge hours
Using the same formula originally discovered in 1842, Jarica Walsh was first introduced to
cyanotype on a middle school field trip. This monochrome photographic printing process, which combines two simple chemicals and ultraviolent light, has not changed in all those years and is the focus of her current exhibit,
Dreaming in Blue, currently on display in the Visitor Center of the Crystal Bridge Conservatory.

Flowers
- Annual bedding plants can be set out for summer color.
- Plant summer bulbs such as cannas, dahlias, elephant ear, caladiums, and gladiolus.
- Shake a leaf over white paper to look for spider mites. If the tiny specks begin to crawl, mites are present.
Fruits and Vegetables
- Plant watermelon, cantaloupe, cucumber, eggplant, okra, sweet potatoes, etc.
- Fruit spray programs should be faithfully continued during the next several weeks.
- Late May is the best time to control borers in the orchard. Check for label recommendations and controls.
Water Gardens
- Clean out the water garden and prepare for the season. Divide and repot water garden plants.
- Begin feeding fish when water temperatures are over 50°F.
