October Newsletter- 2020
FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER
Dear Members

We are quickly approaching the end of the season, so I encourage all our golfers to play as much golf as possible before it becomes too cold. The golf course is scheduled to close on October 31st but I plan on keeping in open as long as we can to allow Members the chance to play. I will work closely with Doug Hausman, our Golf Course Superintendent, to determine the final day and communicate that to the membership at the appropriate time. We will also be closing the patio with the final day being Sunday, October 25th.  We will be removing furniture a week or so after we close to protect it for the winter. It has been a great season for the patio and golf course alike. We are sad to see that come to an end.

We are planning on closing the west tee of the practice range later this month to start preparing the surface for next year. While the west tee is closed, we will use the mat or the east tee providing the gravel cart path is clear of water and mud. This process will involve re-seeding, fertilizer, pre-emerge herbicides and heavy top-dressing to help level out the low pockets on the tee. We also plan on covering the tee this year to protect it from any winter damage like we suffered two years ago. It is our goal to place a higher priority on the practice area for 2021.

Coronavirus remains a big reality for us all. Please do not use the club if you have tested positive until you are cleared by a doctor or if you are currently experiencing any
COVID-19 symptoms. You would not want to expose any of your fellow members or the staff to the disease. Of course, good personal hygiene, frequent hand washing, hand sanitizer, social distancing as well as wearing a mask are great ways to help mitigate the spread of the virus. The clubhouse staff has continued to enhance our general cleaning policies by disinfecting all ‘touch’ surfaces frequently. Practicing healthy habits will help us stay healthy all year long.

It is never too early to start thinking about the holidays. If your business has a holiday party every year, consider bringing it to the club.  We would love for you to be able to show off your club to your staff. No matter how big the event, we have the perfect space for you. Contact Tammi at 605-232-3000 or tgranaas@dakotadunescountryclub.com to book your event now before all the dates are gone.

If finding the perfect holiday gift is always a challenge, come see the Golf Shop staff. They will be able to help you find that perfect gift for your significant other.  We have a great selection of merchandise in the shop and if we don’t carry it, we will be able to place a special order for you to get that special gift for someone special. Now is a great time to use your golf shop credit before it expires.

I am very proud to be your General Manager. If you would like to chat about anything, please stop by the club and see me or send me an email. Remember, I’m here for you and please stay safe.
