  • Welcome back WIE! Our next meeting is this Thursday, December 2nd, after school in room 184. There will be a panel of women engineers from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. We hope to see you there! New members are always welcome!

  • The Student Political Union will be hosting DuPage County Chairman Greg Hart as a guest speaker this Friday after school at 3:15 PM in room 163 to speak on campaigning and provide internship and volunteering opportunities. Join the remind by texting @hcpolitic to 810-10. Spread the word, all are welcome! 

  • Get together your class, club, or team and join us in the You Matter walking challenge taking place throughout the month of December. We are looking for groups to pledge to walk or run to raise awareness about Mental Health and make positive life choices. You choose the date, time, location, and distance for your group to walk or run. Check your school email from Mrs. Phillip for more details. Today Mrs. Kim's period 6/7 Bio Honors Class is walking for the cause.

  • Come join our Basketball team this Friday at 6 p.m. and wear Green in the fight to break down the stigma around mental health. This Friday will be a Green Out game so wear green in order to show friends, family, and loved ones or simply those you walk past that you care about their mental health. 

  • Starting Monday, December 6 will be the start of our Spirit/Coping Week. Use this week to check in with one another and talk about mental health! Please participate in the daily themes and by learning and practicing coping strategies. Join us in getting the conversation going! Monday is Mediation Monday so wear your PJ'S! 

  • It is National World Language Week. The World Language Teachers have put together some trivia questions. If you know the answer, please come to room #145 after school and if you are right, you will receive a modest prize. Today’s question is: What is the literal translation of the word “Wolkswagen”?

  • We will start RDS (Red Devil Standard) again this year. We are looking forward to working with student athletes on making positive decisions as well as leading others on their respective teams to do the same. This can be any student athletes on Varsity, JV, and Freshmen teams. RDS is all about providing science and researched based knowledge and skills: Nutrition, Mood, Mindset, Chemical Health, Sleep, Leadership, Commitment/Dedication, Teamwork, Leadership, Accountability/Responsibility. The first meeting is Thursday, December 2nd at 7:15am in the wrestling room.

  • Strong Minds Bring Change is a club focused around breaking the stigma of mental illness and creating a positive school environment. Our next all club meeting is this Wednesday, December 1st. Hope to see you in the Upper Cafe at 3:05pm. All are welcome.

  • Get your limited edition "ugly" holiday Red Devil Nation sweater this week! Stop by the Activities Office and purchase a shirt to get in the holiday and winter spirit for $15. Remember, this is a limited edition Red Devil Nation shirt so get one before we are sold out!

  • CSA members: don't forget to pick up your permission slip for the Salvation Army Bell Ringing this Friday, December 3. We will be in front of the 2 kettles at the Jewel in Clarendon Hills from 3:15 to 5:00. You must also have your parent sign the Alternative Transportation Permission form on the back of the permission slip. Anyone seeking service learning hours are welcome to join us. Slips are available after school in Room 245 starting on Tuesday, 11/30.

  • Do you want to learn how to solve a Rubik’s Cube in less than 30 seconds? Join the BRAND NEW Rubik’s Cube club, Wednesdays after school in Room 139 starting This Wednesday, December 1st from 3:10 until 4:00. No experience necessary. See you there!

  • Please consider an area child by donating to Joey's Toy Drive. If you bring a toy to the Hinsdale South and Hinsdale Central boy's basketball game, Saturday, Dec. 4th, you get in free! Thank you for your generosity.

  • ATTENTION SENIORS!! Come on out this Friday for senior only bingo at 6 PM! We’ve got prizes and a chance at winning a prom bid! It is $5 to enter which includes a bingo card. Additional bingo cards are $1 each, and additional raffle tickets are $2 each! We will play up until the start of our Downers Grove home basketball game. So come on out to bingo and then come support our boy’s team. GO RED DEVILS!

  • Attention sophomore and junior students: Are you interested in learning more about the role of standardized testing in the college admissions process? In response to the pandemic, colleges have radically adjusted their admission testing policies.   • Open Mic Alert: HC Poetry Club will be hosting Write It out Wednesday on December 8th at 7:30 AM in the library. This will be a mini open mic & a workshop to go. Come prepared to share, to listen, or to write!
