Update on our Confirmation Passage

After a lot of prayer and reflection, the Crossroads Passage Team and Staff have decided to postpone our Confirmation passage until next year.

We define confirmation as "a passage that guides students to personally own their faith and live in the way of Jesus in their everyday lives. It provides resources to deepen their love for God, others, and self through questions, service, and the ongoing support found in the family and in a Christian community." The relationships between students, parents, and mentors formed during the Confirmation process and retreat cannot be replicated in a limited, virtual, or socially distanced way. We are saddened to delay this time, but trust it is for the best.

Please email Deborah with questions. If your student is a Senior in High School who intended to go through Confirmation in 2021, please reach out as well.
Weekly Scripture Focus
"After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them. His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them. And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus.
Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” (He did not know what to say, they were so frightened.)
Then a cloud appeared and covered them, and a voice came from the cloud: “This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!”
Suddenly, when they looked around, they no longer saw anyone with them except Jesus.
As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus gave them orders not to tell anyone what they had seen until the Son of Man had risen from the dead."
Mark 9:2-9 (NIV)
A Reflection:
This scripture reminds us that God's love is shown through Jesus. Have you ever wondered, "what would God do as a person on earth?" That question can be answered by looking at the life of Jesus!
Jesus models compassion, service, forgiveness, and wisdom for us, and God calls us to live in the world with those traits too!

  • What words or qualities do you use to describe God?

  • How have you felt God's presence or seen God's work in the world?

  • How can you bring the qualities we see in Jesus life to your life today?

A Prayer:
Dear God, thank you for showing us times when You were with us during our daily lives. Our eyes are open wide to see all that we are grateful for, our family, friends, neighbors, teachers, coaches, pets, homes, and more. Help us to see how we can show Your love to others through the ways we serve and love them. Amen.
