Mayor: Planning puts City in solid financial position
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Round Rock had seen recent business recruiting successes, an uptick in sales tax revenue overall and from Dell as well as healthy fund reserves.

Although our past financial planning puts us in a solid position, we have already sharpened our pencils to brace for the impacts of the past few months on our budget.

Serving Center to receive COVID-19 funding
City Council members voted June 11 to commit $397,375 in federal grant funding to the Round Rock Area Serving Center to provide Round Rock residents in need as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Low to moderate income individuals or households are eligible to be assisted with rent or mortgage and utilities including gas, electric and water payments for up to three months.

Amazon to lease 32-acre site in Round Rock
The Round Rock Chamber confirmed Wednesday, June 10, that Amazon will open a delivery station in Round Rock. The 32-acre site is currently under construction at the Chisholm Trail Trade Center near I-35 and Old Settlers Boulevard along Chisholm Trail Road.

2019 water quality report is now online
The City of Round Rock is committed to providing high quality, dependable water to the community. Round Rock's water system is rated "superior" by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) – TCEQ's highest rating – and meets or exceeds all state and federal drinking water standards.

Each year, the City must release a Consumer Confidence Report that provides information about our water system, including source water, levels of detected contaminants, compliance with drinking water rules and water quality data from the most recent U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) required tests.

City resumes in-person meetings, packet briefings

The City of Round Rock resumed City Council packet briefings Tuesday, June 9. City Council members have also returned to the dais in person for packet briefings and Council meetings; the public will continue to be able to participate in person or virtually via Zoom.
