Play it safe on the water, wear a life jacket!!
With pools closed, more people than ever are expected on the Spokane River and other local lakes and water ways.

Please, please, please ... wear a life jacket. The Spokane River is cold with flows about 3,300 cfs and expected to remain that way into next week. The Forum doesn't recommend tubing below downtown until flows go below 2,700 cfs. Read more
Safety alert above Mission Street Bridge

River safety signage supporting river closure for E. Trent Bridge demolition is still not complete by WA Department of Transportation and Garco, their contractor. Upstream of the bridge, users must take out above Mission Street Bridge by Avista headquarters.

The two signs saying river take out 500' ahead are face down in the water, creating their own river hazard.

The river take out sign is about 80 yards too far downstream.
Concrete jersey barriers and a gabion wall make it impossible to get to Upriver Drive from where the sign is.

Go no farther than the Avista brick building that is easily seen river right. You can walk up the bank to a vehicle turnout to load your equipment.

Take out river right at this building
