Dear Friends,

We hope this message finds you all staying well. Our regular letters to you started weeks ago, as a way of staying in touch with one another while we all awaited to see how the world would take shape and we tried to find our new forms of community during unprecedented times. It is said that it usually takes only 30 days of doing something consistently for it to become a habit, good or bad. We feel that taking the time to write to you all each week is a good habit that we have developed, and look forward to continuing. And once again we thank you for the overwhelmingly positive responses, which feed our inspiration.

A phrase that was coined very quickly at the start of the pandemic was ‘the new normal’… and it did not take long for the tag line to become overused and rather banal. That said, what have we all done to develop our ‘new normal’? How do we cope with the ongoing news each day, often which is enough to make one want to crawl back under the covers and stay there? How are we adjusting and finding our routines and balance? Finding something positive each day? Finding moments to be kinder and more accepting of one another? Even if it is the absolute slightest moment of joy, peace or inspiration it matters. Life goes on even after we are changed, and the rich tapestry of our lives continues to be woven. Some threads may be familiar while others will be unexpected, and perhaps a pleasant surprise. The paths we choose are deeply personal and we must all remember that each and every one of us is dealing with the current times in our own ways. There are many reasons for us all to come together and stand in solidarity, now and always, and yet we each get to craft our days and our ‘habits’ for ourselves. This is all part of the journey. Try to find the positive moments along the way that may very well lead you to a new destination that had never even been imagined.

At the resort this week we had several families join us to take advantage of the early lazy days of summer. Children and dogs playing, friends laughing together and everyone finding their moments of peace here and there to recharge. The robins and swallows are still keeping their eggs warm awaiting the arrival of their newborns, while the mallard ducklings are well on their way of figuring out the lay of the lake. The peonies are swelling and hollyhocks are budding up getting ready for their show, while the rugosa roses are already perfuming the air. The hawkweeds and the shasta daisies are dotting the landscape, enticing one to while away the day in the meadow. The crystal clear water, while still a tad brisk, is refreshing and renewing. And as always, the sunsets offer a clear reminder that there is something to be thankful for each and every day.

We are ever so grateful for having the ability to offer this respite here in the Northwoods. Our peninsula and accommodations are positioned in such a way that allows everyone to enjoy the property and amenities, while maintaining a responsible social distance, and we have been working extra hard this year to accommodate the current protocols and provide peace of mind and spirit to all of our guests.

We hope you are able to continually hone your good habits and please remember to be kind to one another, as our integrity as a global community depends on it.

Please enjoy some images of our recent inspiring moments below.

Thank you for being a part of our family.

With love,
Sue, Denny, Steph, Todd, Scott and James
