Marion County Elections COVID-19 Response
Marion County, FL. March 13 - Currently, there have been no confirmed cases of the Coronavirus in Marion County. However, the safety of Marion County’s voters and election workers remains a top priority.

Wesley Wilcox, Marion County Supervisor of Elections has contacted all election workers to remind them to practice hand hygiene frequently, maintain a social distance, and to notify us immediately if they are sick or unable to work. At this time, additional election workers are not needed to work the polls in Marion County but are encouraged to apply to work in the Primary and General Elections.

Voters are encouraged to vote early today and tomorrow at any of our nine Early Voting sites between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. where crowds may be smaller than Election Day. Marion County polling places will remain open and unchanged on Election Day, March 17.  Voters with symptoms of the virus can designate someone to pick up their vote-by-mail ballot through Election Day by completing an affidavit.

Voters, election workers, and staff are constantly reminded to help prevent the spread of germs by avoiding close contact with people who are sick; covering cough and sneeze; avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth; and frequently washing hands with soap and water. Voters may bring their own sanitary items with them to the polls if they desire.
