"Resurrection Encounter...In Our Faith"

Holy Gospel: John 20-19-31
So much of our lives are lived by the words: “I’ll believe it when I see it!” When it comes to our health, our finances or our relationships, seeing is believing! But does that hold true to our faith? As we continue our Easter series, “Resurrection Encounters”, we meet Thomas, who would not believe that Jesus had risen form dead until he had literally put his fingers in the holes and hand in Jesus’ side. But after Jesus shows up, commands Thomas to do exactly that and Thomas proclaims His faith, Jesus issues this stunning truth: “Blessed are those who have NOT seen and yet still believe!” It can be so hard to trust in our risen Lord when everything in us and our lives cries out: “I’ll believe it when I see it!” But thanks be to God, that our risen Lord meets us right where we need Him the most: our faith. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we believe and trust in our “Lord and God”…even when we cannot see Him!

Resurrection Encounters: Where Our Risen Lord Meets Us In Our Life With Him
Christ is risen! He is risen, indeed! The Good News of the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the bedrock of our faith. But while the certainty of the resurrection drives our faith, hope and love, we experience it as Peter names it: “Though you have not seen Him, you love Him.” (1 Peter 1:8) That’s because our resurrected Lord has not left us alone; He comes to us in ways that show the power of His resurrection is present for us even now. In this Easter series, “Resurrection Encounters”, we will look at the many ways the resurrected Jesus promises to be with His people. In each of these “encounters”, we have the promise that the risen Lord is really present, strengthening our faith, deepening our hope and empowering our love for others.

Our story is all about fish. We'll go to the Sea of Galilee where Jesus helps the disciples catch hundreds of them - it's another miracle!
In-person Sunday School will meet in the Heritage Room at 10:15 a.m. We'll watch a video and play a cool fishing game - come join us! This week's story and activities will also be emailed to all Sunday School and Wednesday Bible School families.
