TREMONT WEST ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING WRAP-UP

  The Tremont West Annual Membership Meeting was forced to move online due to COVID 19.  The meeting kicked off on Thursday, May 21st, by a live Facebook greeting from our out-going Board President, Kate Carden.  This opened up voting at the Tremont West Storefront, where members were encouraged to bring canned goods along with their ballot to vote on new members of our Board of Directors.  Executive Director, Cory Riordan, continued the online presentation by presenting our 2019-20 Annual Report.  At 2pm, viewers were asked to watch a conversation with Tremont's three City of Cleveland Councilmembers, Ward 3 Councilman, Kerry McCormack, Ward 12 Councilman Anthony Brancatelli and Ward 14 Councilwoman, Jasmin Santana. Throughout the day, Tremont West also posted a video by the new Tremont Tree Initiative Committee and posted board reports, block club reports and our annual report.

At 7:30pm, we began our final live feed of Tremont West Board Secretary, Ann Marie Riley.  She was able to give a wrap-up of the day, announce quorum. Friday morning, the results were posted on our website.

METROHEALTH COMMUNITY MEETING

The virtual Community Meeting is part of a series we started last summer to share community development plans and get feedback from the community. MetroHealth is meeting with the City of Cleveland Planning Commission in June regarding the construction of the building on West 25th Street and MetroHealth Drive, and we welcome your questions at the virtual Community Meeting regarding this project.

NEIGHBOR UP COVID-19 RAPID RESPONSE GRANTS
 
The Neighbor Up COVID-19 Rapid Response Grants are providing financial assistance to grassroots neighborhood civic groups as well as small non-profit and faith-based organizations for efforts related to the provision of needs during COVID-19.
Funds are intended to enable these civic groups and organizations to be responsive to emergency and basic needs requests, providing support for operations, and/or reducing social isolation. Applicants must be 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations or work with a 501(c)3 fiscal sponsor that will be designated to you through this grants program. Grants will cover a 12-week period and will be between $500 and $5,000.
This fund is intended for smaller requests; organizations seeking larger support should email [email protected] to receive the intake form for the Greater Cleveland COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund.

Due to COVID-19 (coronavirus) Tremont West Development Corporation offices are closed to the public through June We will be appointment only and only in cases that we can practice safe social distancing.  Tremont West Development Corporation Board of Directors meeting s and all Tremont West Committee meetings until further notice will be hosted on Zoom or a similar platform The meetings that are open to membership and the public will have information on how to "opt-in" the meeting posted on our website. Tremont Youth Council at Merrick House
Merrick House Youth Programs is looking for youth to participate in a 10 session professional speaking class beginning July 13th, 2020 on Mondays.  This is a virtual class occurring on  Zoom.  Please contact Jennifer Pullom at 216.771.5077 or [email protected] for details.

Sponsored two Pay It Forward events at Little Caesars on Clark Ave.  The youth council wanted to do there part in giving back to the community.  The Youth Council partnered with Lucky's Cafe to provide soup for the housekeeping department at MetroHealth Hospital.   The final Pay it forward Activity will begin May 26th through June 19th as, the youth council will accept mini-grant requests up to $30  from youth to provide opportunities for youth to do something nice for others or to provide an incentive remain positive.  Please contact Jennifer at 216.771.5077 or [email protected] for details.

Rolling Road Closure On I-90
U.S. 42 (W. 25th St.) over Interstate 90 bridge deck replacement and rehabilitation - This project performs bridge rehabilitation and bridge deck replacement on U.S. 42 (W. 25th Street) over Interstate 90 in Cleveland. Estimated Completion: October 2020
NEW IMPACTS
  • I-90 under U.S. 42 (W. 25th Street) will have rolling road closures between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. lasting no longer than 15 minutes starting Monday, May 11, through Wednesday, May 13, for bridge beam removal.
