It’s never been about the materials, or even techniques. It’s the voice. It’s the voice that remains authentic and true and Native and specific to whomever you are and who your people are and the stories you have to tell. —Teri Greeves, Coe Board of Directors

A Note from Rachel, CEO
Great News! We now offer a Corporate Sponsor Program, starting at $1,000. More information is given later in this eletter.
Save the Date! "The Caesars Are Coming to Santa Fe" Opening December 12. Our December exhibition will be curated by Coe board director Kenneth Johnson and will feature the incredible German silver work by the Caesar family of Oklahoma.
Once again, thank you to all who helped make our FUNCTION experience a lively, fun success. There were over 150 people at the dinner, creating and experiencing community in a different way. We enjoyed the food prepared by YouthWorks and Cannupa Hanska Luger was a delightful inspiration as he served food and then broke the plates we had created (thanks to collaborators Santa Fe Clay and Paseo Pottery!) He will be using the shards to create new art. We look forward to the documentary film by Little Globe, made possible by La Fonda.
Did You Know?
By visiting our eclectic collection of over 2,200 objects (Native American, Oceanic, African, and more) you can travel the world through the stories behind the objects. You never know what will catch your eye (and your heart) as you experience the Coe. Our staff and volunteers are always happy to give you a personal tour and share stories about their favorite objects.
This Month's Object
Can you guess? Native-American? Oceanic? African? Ask one of our curators to tell you the tale, including how it came to be part of our collection. (Or, you can cheat by reading about it on our website.)
We also welcome your stories. If you know something about any of the objects, let us know!
Caesars Coming to Santa Fe
December 12!
Jewelry design can be "as simple as a sentence that conveys a thought or as deep as an essay that conveys a whole belief."
- Bruce Caesar
Jewelry collectors have long cherished the work of the Caesars. We're honored to host the work of Bruce Caesar and his family. His father, Julius (Pawnee) was a widely traveled artist who was renowned for his work in German silver.
Bruce's work has won many awards and has been featured in major exhibits, such as "Contemporary Southern Plains Indian Metalwork," sponsored by the Indian Arts and Crafts Board, and in articles in Oklahoma Today and Native Peoples magazines.
As always, admission to the exhibition is free and you will see some of the Caesar objects in our permanent collection; the photo doesn't really do them justice!
A Different Gift Idea
An Annual Friends of the Coe Membership!
