First,we had to remove the succulents below the sign location. Laurel-Heather, Joan and Colleen did emergency landscaping an hour before installers arrived.
Measure twice - - hang once! Locating the exact location of the holes for the bolts.
And this sign is HEAVY so no one wanted a half-inch error!
Lifting and getting the signs in place.
Lining up the holes and bolting the sign in. Perfect!
Even the installers, aptly moniker "Monster Signs" are proud and taking photos. Neighbors drove by with the "thumbs up"!
Artist Carly Quinn looks over her work. Already neighbors are seeing and enjoying the signs!
The project to erect entrance signs on the Campbell access road began in January 2017. Yes, really that long ago! Alan, George, Kurt and Mary jump-started the first design.
Funding was on the neighborhood, so the Friends of Jefferson Park, Inc. began soliciting donations. When it was clear the cost was not going to be met for the first design, a neighbor offered to create two signs for the wall and donate 1/2 the cost. Hence today's tile design.
After much paperwork with city, TDOT, and the installer we finally have the result.
Many thanks to the 36 neighbor donors, two real estate folks, and Carly Quinn designs!

Squeaky wheel gets the grease...
Jefferson Park Traffic Advisory Committee urges everyone to take the survey on
movetucson.com
and send the message that Jefferson Park has concerns.
Tucson Transportation Department will take data from the "
Move Tucson.org
" survey to decide where resources should be allocated.
If Jefferson Park doesn't speak up and become part of the count, the silence indicates that it is happy with increased traffic, potholes and unsafe bicycle/pedestrian ways.
Please fill out the on-line survey at
movetucson.org
. Scroll to the bottom and take the survey.
Did you know Lester is a designated bikeway but only has one small sign erected? Kinda unbelievable!

Latest update from Parks and Recreation:
"...
all proposals (6 requested and 4 received) unfortunately exceeded our budget and the Parks Department is re-evaluating the project. Parks staff will also be meeting with Wheat Design Group to see what can possibly be modified, revised, or changed to make this a viable project. Once I have some possible ideas/solutions I will contact you." Joe O'Neill, Parks and Recreation.

Bids for the proposed park $142,000 over budget!

Poles thru neighborhood, GIS substation at the border
Have an opinion?
Pathway of poles being considered through Jefferson Park. Campbell, Vine and Park.
JPNA has taken a stand that the only paths to be considered should be underground or along industrial or commercial thoroughfares-not through the neighborhood.
