Tough times don't last! Tough people do!

for being so patient as we navigate through these  unprecedented  times!

In my young (slightly over 3/4 a
century) age I'm noticing the people around me are unequally dividing into two categories

A.) those who are taking all this in stride.

and

B.) those who want it all back to "normal."

I congratulate those with the patience and flexibility to be accommodating to all the changes we're faced with and the ones yet to come.

You are an inspiration to us all.

Join us for a virtual morning business meeting on June 3rd and share with us how you've kept your poise.

1831
Pioneering mountain man meets his end
Jedediah Strong Smith , 32, has earned his middle name by surviving three massacres, a bear mauling, and travels through the vast wilds of the American West, including the unforgiving Mojave Desert. Exploring near the Santa Fe Trail in present day Kansas, Smith is killed by Comanche warriors.
1937
After four years of construction, the Golden Gate Bridge opens, connecting San Francisco and Marin County. About 200,000 people walk across the 4,200-foot-long suspension bridge to celebrate. It will open to vehicles the following day.
1942
For heroics that saved the lives of many fellow USS West Virginia crewmen during the Pearl Harbor attack, Messman Third Class Doris 'Dorie' Miller is the first black service member to receive the Navy Cross. For the next two years he'll serve bravely in the Pacific theater before perishing in the USS Liscome Bay's catastrophic sinking.
1994
Banished son of Russia returns to his motherland
Winner of 1970's Nobel Prize in Literature, author Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn returns to the homeland that exiled him for the very writing that garnered him acclaim. Communism's fall now allows the author of ' The Gulag Archipelago' to be reunited with a country he hasn't seen for 20 years.

Market Expansion ~ Business Development
Entrepreneurial Education ~ Professional Growth
Since 1983!
A not-for-profit cooperative association of independent businesses, founded from an economic development research project on the
importance of small business development conducted by the
Houston Chamber of Commerce in the late 1970's.

With our first Co-Op meeting held March 14, 1983, to date we've worked with 65,642
people, generating 45,090 tips, leads, referrals and items of new business, generating revenues exceeding one billion dollars, founded the Entrepreneurial Development Center - Houston's first and Texas' oldest small business incubator and co-working space, First Houston Small Business Seed Capital Fund - literally the first small business seed capital fund in Houston, the Womens Business Center - first business incubator for women business owners in the country with residency space and the Virtual Business Center - the first remote business incubator in the world - all totally without public funding, grants, gifts, donations or contributions.

Co-Op companies have won virtually every award for business growth in Houston, some nationally and some even internationally.

Our Entrepreneurial Research Division conclusively demonstrated A) "entrepreneurship" could be taught in a classroom environment, resulting in colleges and universities, globally, commencing entrepreneurial courses and B) that women starting businesses were seeking a hand-up and a level playing field rather than a hand-out or charity and C) that business incubators/accelerators could be entirely self-sufficient by charging a royalty interest in client companies and D) tax funding of Small Business Development Centers actually competed with the SCORE program and private sector business consultants.
