VIRGINIA BEACH - As part of the Laskin Road Bridge Replacement and Widening Project, travelers should expect changes to the road alignment on eastbound Laskin Road near the project's eastern limits.
Starting as early as June 23, contractor crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation will shift the eastbound lanes of Laskin Road approximately 15 feet north between the Laskin Road Annex and just east of the bridge over Linkhorn Bay.
This shift will re-position the eastbound lanes onto their pre-construction alignment, after being previously shifted to allow for utility work in the median of Laskin Road. By returning the lanes to their previous alignment, crews will now perform utility work and other construction activities on the south side of eastbound Laskin Road.
Access to properties within this traffic shift will be maintained at all times. The alignment of westbound lanes through this location will not change.
Motorists traveling through the work zone should obey the reduced speed limit of 35 mph, at all times.
This work is weather-dependent, and the schedule is subject to change.
