The 9th grade students in Mrs. Rosenzweig's Geometry class made kites using all of the geometric properties of kites. The students had fun flying the kites in the amphitheater.

Students in Morah Alissa's and Morah Sandy's ECE3 class this week learned about what makes an animal kosher. They created a kosher fish with scales and fins, and a non-kosher fish without. They traced their hands, splitting their fingers, to represent the split hooves of a kosher animal, and another tracing their hands with their fingers together to represent the hoof of a non-kosher animal. They also learned about and looked for hechshers on their snacks.

Sixth-graders in Mr. Duke's social studies class learned about the ancient Aztec calendar, comparing and contrasting its symbolism with that of the Jewish calendar. Students then rolled up their sleeves, slabbed out some clay, and created scale models of Aztec sun calendars, which will be fired and glazed after the material dries. 

Grecian vases come to life in 3rd grade art! The students learned all about Greek vases and learned a fun process in which they painted black over their drawing and scratched them back to life.

Middle School students enjoyed the first Lunch and Learn of the year. They learned with shlichim Aviva and Ori Friedmann and prepared for the first Chidon (contest) on Tzionut (Zionism). The students also enjoyed eating and tasting Jachnun, a delicious Yemenite Jewish pastry that is traditionally served on Shabbat morning, and learning about Zionist history.

Morah Aviva's ECE4 class is getting back into its routine! The class formed Alef Bet letters, and prepared for Yom Haatzmaut by making Israeli flags. They exercised their cutting and fine motor skills as they cut triangles for Magen Davids, and painted blue stripes with clothespins and cotton balls.

Students in Mrs. B's kindergarten class had fun while learning addition. The students each took a turn rolling two dice and adding the numbers up. They kept track of the most common total on a graph, which turned out to be 7. They then worked independently.
