Dear Camp Participant,

Thank you for enrolling in our revised 2020 Summer Childcare Camp. We wanted to reach out and give you additional information regarding the camp experience we will provide this year. We also wanted to give you ample time to gather the camper supply list. Camp will not look or feel the same as usual, but we are committed to a safe and enjoyable program. Please read below for some helpful information. We will supply greater detail in the camp manual and more on day-to-day activities once groups have been formed; but this should help you prepare. Lunch-time specifics, wearing a face covering, bringing camper supplies, and increased sick protocol are essential to make this camp run safely and smoothly.

Lunch/Snacks
Campers must bring a sack lunch every day. We do not offer refrigeration or microwaves for lunches. Based on Restore Illinois guidelines, campers will have a social distance of 6 feet apart when eating, whether it be inside the classrooms or outside in an open space. It is recommended campers' meals brought from home should be in single-use containers to be thrown out after each meal. Please send your camper with food items that do not require assistance from camp staff to open. We recommend you avoid items such as Go-Gurts or Lunchables unless your child is old enough to open these without help. Campers will need to wear a face covering over their nose and mouth at all times, except when eating or when outside and able to maintain a safe social distance (exceptions can be made for people with medical conditions or disabilities that prevent them from safely wearing a face covering).

Camper Supply List (Campers must supply the following)
4 Pencils
Scissors
Travel Tissues
Pencil Sharpener
2 Glue Sticks
Hand Sanitizer
Pencil Case with your child's name on it
Construction Paper: 8.5 x 11 variety pack
Back Pack*
Colored Pencils/Crayons
Ruled Paper
Lunch Bag - Labelled
Washable Markers
Coloring Book
Water Bottle - Labelled
2 Paint Brushes
Scotch Tape

*This item is not required as a drawstring bag will be given to your camper for their supplies the first week of camp.

Water Bottles
Campers are required to bring a labelled water bottle each day. We are installing a touchless water bottle filling station in the building, so reusable water bottles will be best.

COVID-19 Daily Symptoms Check
The Rolling Meadows Park District is firmly committed to the health and safety of its participants, guests and staff. However, we need the help of ALL parents and guardians to maintain a healthy and safe environment for Summer Camp. Therefore, we are requiring all parents and guardians take an oath of parental responsibility to complete a daily COVID-19 symptoms check on your child prior to leaving home to attend Summer Camp. If your child exhibits any COVID-19 symptoms, we respectfully require they remain at home for the health and safety of other participants, guests and our staff. Please realize, the health and safety of the program relies on you as a parent or guardian committing to and abiding by your responsibility of daily COVID-19 symptom checks of your child. We're all in this together.

What Will Happen if a Camper or Staff Show Symptoms of COVID-19
If your child or a staff member exhibits signs or symptoms of COVID-19, they will immediately be isolated from the group. You will be called to come and pick-up your child, or if a staff member, they will be sent home. We encourage the parent/child or staff member immediately contact their doctor or seek a COVID-19 test and follow CDC guidelines. A written note will be required from a doctor advising the child or staff member can return to camp.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we all learn together how to safely enjoy camp. We look forward to seeing your child this summer. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact one of our Recreation Supervisors.

Sincerely,

Andrea Wilford Karrie Miletic
