To the Lincoln Heritage Scouting Family:
Thank you for your cooperation and positive attitudes in following the restrictions placed on Scouting meetings and activities over the past eight weeks. Keeping our Scouting family and community safe is important. I am proud of our families for living the Scout Oath to “help other people at all times.”
For the last two months, we have been exploring all options related to running our summer resident and day camps. We developed a Health Advisory Committee that includes the top leaders in their respective field.
Knowing how important the role summer programs play in a Scout’s experience, we have had detailed conversations with local health departments, state officials and proactively contacted the Governor’s office for input. We have reviewed every possible option to operate camps this summer in a manner that is safe and in alignment with the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
Due to the ever-changing situation surrounding COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our camp operations this summer.
(Please see the footnote below regarding refunds.)
This includes all Scouts BSA camps, Cub Scout Day camps, Cub Adventure Days, Cub and Webelos resident camp and NYLT courses.
I know this announcement is disappointing. As a past camp staff member, camp director and the father of a Scout, I share that disappointment. I thank you for your continued patience and understanding through these unprecedented times.
Our team of dedicated staff and volunteers are currently developing several exciting activities that will keep Scouts engaged, learning and advancing in rank this summer. More information will be shared on our social media pages and through email in the coming weeks.
Thank you for your commitment to a safe and quality Scouting program.
Scout On,
