COVID-RELIEF FUNDING
EDD PUA Program: Are you an independent contractor, self-employed, individual without sufficient work history, or have exhausted your UI benefits ? The Employment Development Department (EDD) is opening the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) Program, a newly available emergency unemployment assistance program under the federal CARES Act. PUA provides assistance for unemployed or partially unemployed individuals who are not eligible for regular unemployment insurance and who are unable or unavailable to work due to COVID-19 related circumstances.  See PUA website now to apply on Tuesday, April 28 .

REGIONAL EVENTS
Art, Beer & Wine Festival:  Regrettably we are unable to reschedule our 17th Annual Festival to another date in 2020. We look forward to seeing you May 8-9, 2021.

Brewfest: Plans are underway for our 2nd Annual El Dorado Hills Brewfest on September 12, 2020, and we invite your partnership and support!

The Greater Sacramento Economic Council (GSEC) is launching a free interactive tool to help businesses large and small through this economic downturn. GSEC is offering an online tool, SizeUp, which provides custom market research and data to empower companies to make strategic and data-driven decisions on their next move. This will assist businesses that are struggling or those that have closed, have access to hyperlocal information to help them get back to work. 

Join us as representatives from SizeUp do a live demonstration of this tool and provide real-life applications that showcase how small businesses can leverage this tool to best serve their unique business needs.

Monetary donations are best because for every $1 you give, the Food Bank can buy $20 worth of groceries. Thank you for your generosity during these times.

Employment Benefits during COVID-19: The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA or Act) takes effect April 1 - December 31, 2020. Our Chamber has the required flyers for legal posting next to the California and Federal Employment posters. We are offering these free of charge to our Chamber Members, so contact us to request your complimentary flyer.
LABOR LAW QUESTIONS

Complimentary Human Resources Advising: Thanks to our Chamber Member, Golden Sierra Job Training Agency , who has partnered with the California Employers Association, to bring you a no-cost HR Hotline for guidance with California Labor Law.
UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE & BENEFITS
Big Picture Changes to UI & Benefits: The CARES Act made sweeping changes and added new benefits to the program, so during the near-term the state Employment Development Department (EDD) will interpret these changes and implement them to provide the new benefits.
SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESS FUND
El Dorado Hills Chamber, El Dorado County Chamber, and the El Dorado Community Foundation Fund: The intent of the fund is to support western slope small businesses that have been directly impacted by the Coronavirus. All contributions will be held and distributed by the El Dorado Community Foundation and are 100% tax deductible. Criteria and applications for the fund will be available soon for all of our western slope small businesses .
LOCAL GRANTS FOR NON-PROFITS
The Coronavirus Relief Fund (CVRF) has been set up to provide financial support for basic human needs to residents on the western slope of El Dorado County. The application can be completed by nonprofits and agencies as well as individual residents.
REGIONAL GRANTS FOR NON-PROFITS
Sacramento Region Disaster Relief Fund will provide one-time rapid response grants to nonprofit organizations in the four-county Sacramento region (El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, Yolo) working to address the immediate needs of vulnerable populations and communities impacted by the COVID-19 Coronavirus.

Check out our Chamber's 1st Virtual Webinar with the Greater Sacramento Economic Council (GSEC), El Dorado County, and El Dorado County Chamber, as a result of a meeting the El Dorado Hills Chamber had on April 6th for Small Business Guidance. We shared some of the concerns and confusion that we were hearing from you, and GSEC offered this as a solution.
