PSA Member Service is Our Focus!

As you read this PSA Postings, we hope that you are healthy and adjusting to the conditions we are all facing right now. I know that it has been a challenge for me, as I work from home and eSchool three middle school boys. I have certainly gained a greater appreciation for many things (especially teachers) during this time and have been thankful for access to technology to keep us all connected. The PSA Board of Directors, Editors-in-Chief, Committees, Volunteers and Staff have continued to work together online, to ensure that PSA members continue to have access to quality poultry research.
The Annual Meeting Program Committee, chaired by Brain Fairchild, has been working diligently with the staff to create the first PSA Virtual Meeting. While we are still in the planning stages, we are excited by this new format and the opportunities it offers. Not only will we have the traditional symposium presentations and abstracts by poultry scientists from around the world, but there will also be 5-minute student presentations, virtual posters, networking opportunities and social events. More information will be coming soon and registration will open later this week (see rates below).

Our Editors-in-Chief, Robert Taylor and John Carey, Section Editors and Reviewers are continuing to review and publish papers in Poultry Science ® and The Journal of Applied Poultry Research. Furthermore, now that PS and JAPR are open access, everyone around the world has immediate access to the highest-ranked journals dedicated to publishing poultry research.

The PSA Staff has been working with the Board of Directors to enhance and expand member benefits. While we have had to put Strategic Planning on hold until Fall, we have just launched our new membership database and membership portal. We hope that you will take some time to log into the PSA portal. For security reasons, we did not transfer passwords between systems. Please follow the instructions at the top of the login page to create your new password. Once logged in, take some time to look around at some of the features such as; the membership directory and committee portals (if you volunteer on a committee). If you click on the “person” icon in the upper right, you can view your profile which contains your membership details, communication preferences (let us know what emails you wish to receive) and your account information.

The PSA Staff wishes to thank the many volunteers who contribute their time to the Association and are continually working to advance the poultry sciences, especially during this unprecedented time. Please feel free to let us know how else we can be of service to the poultry science community.
Stay Happy and Healthy!
