Greetings!

“Those who are happiest are those who do the most for others.”
– Booker T. Washington

As we continue to find new ways to do the important and vital work at our agencies, it's always encouraging to see the new ideas our peers are implementing to serve their communities.

The Waukegan Park District is offering residents a Virtual Recreation Center where people can take free home workouts, play games that revolve around keeping people healthy and much more.

The Village of South Elgin Parks Department has taken over scheduling ‘ Birthday Party Drive-By ’ events for those in their community who request one, delivering joy to those who might feel isolated at this time.

The United City of Yorkville is running virtual baseball practices where Little League coaches are doing practice drills in their yards and sending the videos to participants encouraging them to do the drills at home, keeping their skills sharp for competition.

The Decatur Park District is reaching out to its community through public service announcements to encourage health and wellness through safe use of their parks and trails. Click the following links to listen to Decatur Park District's public service announcements: Link 1 Link 2 Link 3
These examples are just a sliver of the important work all of your agencies are doing for others as we collectively work through the effects of COVID-19. If you have a story to share about how your agency is handling this unprecedented moment in time, please let us know.

Sincerely,
