Dear Friends of the Rep,
Our productions continue to be on hold, but we’re using this time to get ahead on other priority projects and share some exciting updates with our theater community. The first of which is an update on Missoula Colony, which has now been restructured and renamed the
Bitterroot Lab
!
Some of you might remember Missoula Colony from years past as a gathering of artists for a week of creative exchange and new play readings on the University of Montana campus. The Bitterroot Lab will be a similar gathering, but now it’s going to be free and open to the public to encourage creative collaboration and connection between Montana artists and artists from across the country. We’ll bring in nationally known playwrights for these events, offering them the chance to work on new plays in collaboration with directors, dramaturgs, actors and members of our community in a safe and beautiful environment, free from the pressures of production.
Unfortunately the Bitterroot Lab won’t be gathering this summer, but we’ll be introducing bits and pieces of the workshops in creative ways until we can have our first official gathering. Keep an eye out for more information in the coming months, and start thinking about all of the ways this free collaboration could benefit your artistic goals! Remember, we're always happy to
accept submissions
!
Sincerely,
Michael Legg
Artistic Director
