Until Further Notice...
Following a directive from Bishop Robert Baker, Bishop of Birmingham in Alabama, and in response to recent health concerns, St. John's has suspended the distribution of the Cup during Holy Communion at all Daily and Weekend Masses.  Hosts will be distributed in the usual manner. With regards to the Sign of Peace, we ask that you use your best judgement in how you choose to share during this part of the Liturgy.
  Thank You!

Its time for our Lenten project The Giving Cross
Similar to our Giving Tree Christmas program, we will be collecting items requested by local charities (St. Vincent de Paul, CASA, Manna House and Choose Life) for the people they serve.  Three wooden crosses will be placed in the vestibule during the weekend of March 7th & 8th .  Small paper crosses identifying items needed by the local charities will be attached to the wooden crosses.  If you would like to help others in our community as part of your Lenten service, then please consider taking a paper cross and purchasing the requested item.  We will be collecting the items before the masses on the weekends of March 14 & 15 as well as March 21st & 22nd .  We ask that you have all the items returned before March 22nd so we can distribute them to the charities. We hope that you will make charitable giving part of your Lenten experience this year and support The Giving Cross .

This Week's Episode: Breath of God

The only way we are able to live a life of faith, a life full of love, peace, joy, and power is by the Holy Spirit. We see this most clearly in the lives of the Apostles. They had every advantage in being with Jesus and hearing him preach and seeing the many miracles that he had done, and yet, even with that advantage, they were frightened men living their faith life in a locked room before they received the Holy Spirit.
