Great people moving within the Department
Mary Synette is the new
Administrative Assistant for DoM Administration and will be full-time support for DoM events, Continuing Professional Development activities and administrative portfolios for Denise Hatchette, Mary Sue Radford and the Physician Resource Officer. Mary moves from the Division of General Internal Medicine and started on March 2, 2020. In her retirement, Helen Parsons, has graciously supported this role, part-time since 2017.
Amanda MacKay is the new
Regional Education Coordinator in the DoM Education Office and will start in this new position on March 9, 2020. Amanda moves from her position in the Division of Medical Oncology as Education Administrator.
Chad Shearer is the successful applicant for the
DoM Manager role left vacant by Brittney MacKinnon in December and will transition into this role starting March 23, 2020. Chad has been the interim Physician Resource Officer, while Kathryn McIlrath is on leave. While we await Kathryn's return in July, we have reallocated that work internally and your contact will be

Dr. Geoffrey Turnbull is retiring on April 1, 2020 from the Division of Digestive Care & Endoscopy. He started with the Department on July 1, 1983 after graduation.
Dr. Turnbull was profiled in the
2012-2013 Department of Medicine Progress & Profiles as well as featured in the
2013-2014 report for winning the 2013 Gold-headed Cane Award by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia. Best wishes in your retirement.
