Join Us On Rally Day
Dear People of God,

For decades, St. John’s Cathedral has kicked off the fall season with a Sunday that we call Rally Day. We rally together as a community to recommit ourselves to the ministries of the church. It is a time of celebration, good food and lots of good company.

Rally Day will take place this Sunday, August 28, after the 8 and 10 a.m. services. The theme this year is Vital Signs of Faith, just like my new book! Each one of you will be given a small sheet of paper on which you can construct a Rule of Life. See a copy of the card below.

The Rule of Life is a concept created by St. Benedict in the fifth century. It basically means living intentionally. Someone who wants to follow Jesus can best do that by making a plan. How do you want to pray, how much and how often? How can you serve, give, work? This Rule of Life card contains a section for each of the four vital signs of the spiritual life: God, Give, Grow and Group.

As you walk through the Cathedral campus that morning, you will see our ministries divided into these four vital signs, so you can determine how you will be faithful in each area. You can find out about the ministries that speak to you and visit with those who are already involved.

This is a time for connections. The pandemic has left us isolated and a little lost. Come back. Come home and make some intentional steps towards taking care of spiritual life. I would love to see you there!

In Christ’s love,

Kate+

Special thanks to the Daughters of the King for our Sunday breakfast!
Cathedral School Corner
The first day of our new school year was a success! Lots of smiles, hugs and playing with their friends. There were a few tears from some littles (and mommies), and that’s ok! The children received lots of TLC and attention and will learn their routines and how much their teachers love them! It’s all day by day - and each day gets easier! The teachers were so excited to see their kiddos and you could feel the excitement We’re going to have a wonderful year growing and learning together!
