Greetings!

I took this photo when I visited my friend Alberto three weeks ago in San Diego. This hillside on the way to Pt. Lomo made me think of my father who fought in France, was wounded three times, but survived.
I had planned to write my May e-note to remember the thousands of people – real people, beloved members of real families – who were killed in wars. And who, even today, are being killed in wars.

Then today’s headline smacked me in the gut:
19 children and 3 adults murdered in Texas elementary school
                          Horrifying sadness… No words…

An old song sings itself in my mind

Where have all the flowers gone?.... When will we ever…..change…?
