Friends, it is no longer an option to NOT BE TOGETHER! While the beach is not yet ready for us, we can safely gather as a family of faith in the Village Green (Gazebo) in downtown Lake Bluff. I can't wait to see you! Zach and I will lead the service, and mandolin legend Don Stiernberg will provide music.
Please know there are some important ground rules that we must follow in order to fulfill our commitment to the Village, State of Illinois, and most importantly, to one another:
masks must be worn while in the park - social distancing of 6" or more must be maintained among people from different households - we'll have about 70 chairs available, but we encourage you to bring your own chair or blanket to sit - the bathroom at the church office will be available for your use. - coffee and treats will not be served.

We'll place temporary flags in the ground for each group to sit that are safely distanced from others. When you arrive, please just find a flag and make yourself at home!

A final note. I hope you will tell your friends and neighbors about this service, and that we may have a strong ministry of presence together. We need to pray. We need to sense Spirit in our midst. We need to be lifted by the gift of music. We need to be our name...community.
Wednesday Night Gathering @
"The Garden of Eatin'"
(And Just What is That?)
* * * * *
OK, a long story short. Our church is letting Bluffington's use the brick parking pad outside our office for breakfast and lunch each day, as they do not have enough sidewalk seating space in our Covid-19 world. That began last Friday. John Corrigan and I thought it would be fun to "take it to the next level," so John spent the weekend crafting standards and lights and generally making the space look cool.
IT DOES!
We've named it "The Garden of Eatin'" and will have a Grand Opening this Wednesday - tomorrow - @ 7:00 p.m. Now, we won't be providing food or beverage or anything like that. You have to bring that, or just bring yourself! The point is that it is a really nice place to gather with friends & family and sit outside and chat.
So, bring your mask, bring something to drink and food for yourself if you'd like and hang out for a little while. We miss you!
P.S. - please feel free to bring food / dry goods for the Food DRIVE!
