An eviction case may proceed if, but only if, a court orders the eviction to proceed and stating its procedures upon the plaintiff’s showing a tenant or a tenant’s household members or guests pose imminent threat of physical harm to the plaintiff, the plaintiff's employees, or other tenants, or criminal activity.

Denton County & COVID19
Our county and our country is facing unprecedented times. I can assure you, that our Denton County employees are working around the clock to insure we are monitoring the latest information and doing everything we can to keep our county safe. We have made daily difficult decisions about what necessary steps are required to reduce the spread of the COVID-19.
As County Judge, I took decisive action to activate our Pandemic Influenza Preparedness Plan Team (PIPP). We had multiple meetings to discuss the safety and health of our employees. Additionally, we have convened a weekly meeting with more than 150 Denton County Leaders from City Mayors, and Managers to School Superintendents and Chamber Presidents to disseminate important information about our initiatives and provide updates. We instituted a hiring freeze at the County and provided a work from home option for applicable positions.

Denton County Commissioners Court has worked together every step of the way through the COVID19 Health Emergency. During our March 17th 2020 meeting a total of ten people were allowed in the Courtroom.
