FORT BEND ISD STUDENTS, STAFF SUPPORT COVID-19 FRONTLINE WORKERS
Elkins High School senior Taylor West and junior Deija Russell, along with Dulles High School graduate D’Anna West, made nearly 100 face masks to donate to the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center. The center’s collection team will wear the face masks as they support enhanced measures to keep our communities healthy and safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Volunteers from the FBISD Collaborative Communities’ Shared Dreams Program – including Holly Simonich, Nancy Walenta, Debbie Poncik, Sheila Williams, Michiko Campbell, Patricia Anderson, Fran Studdard, Aimee Hischke, Courtney Powers, Joan Frazier-Vannoy and Kathy Magers – made 300 masks, donating 200 of those to our frontline Child Nutrition staff to wear during weekly meal distributions, and 100 to Information Technology staff to wear during device deployments. Also, to say “thank you” for their remarkable service to our community, the Collaborative Communities team presented Child Nutrition staff with cookies from Dubois Bakery, courtesy of Kempner High School’s Parent Teacher Organization.
