March 2021

Dear friends,

February 17th marked the beginning of Lent, a time of reflection and fasting that is observed by Christians around the world. Regardless of whether you’ve chosen to abstain from something in particular, this time reminds us of our need for and reliance on God.

As you read the stories and news updates featured below, we hope that they encourage you in your faith and remind you that the Lord is our sustainer, life-giver, and stronghold.

Partnership Handbook – SPICE
SPICE works to end cyclical poverty by providing children in India and Nepal with access to education, discipleship, and medical care. Thanks to many generous donors, we’re able to care for over 800 boys and girls and demonstrate the love of Jesus in tangible ways. View project.
Meet the Vundhlas
We’re thrilled to announce that Donald and Karen Vundhla will deploy to southern Africa as Administrative Coordinators later this year. They have a long history of partnership with the global BIC Church and we are excited to welcome them to our team. Read their bio.

In December 2020, concerns were brought to Leadership Council regarding the BIC U.S. commitment to upholding women in ministry leadership. A task force has been created in response to investigate and provide guidance. Learn more about the task force’s goals and read member bios.

The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord; he is their stronghold in times of trouble. The Lord helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him. -Psalm 37:39-40
